Lister did not mention Tillard (now known as Silly-Tillard) in his memoirs or pocketbook, but his traveling companion Philip Skippon noted:
We travell’d five leagues, and dined at the white cross in Tilliar.

As the gallery shows, the White Cross still exists, not as an inn, but as a private house.
